Ramaj, Sow and Trapp return

Three squad members returned to the pitch as training got under way this week, although not all outfield players are available yet.

The two-day break from training evidently did the Eagles a lot of good, and the freshness and speed witnessed by Oliver Glasner and his coaching team on Wednesday morning were in stark contrast to what was at times a listless and ponderous performance against Union Berlin last Sunday.

Djibril Sow completed a couple of light running exercises following his knee injury, while Christopher Lenz and Stefan Ilsanker worked individually at the ProfiCamp.

Goalkeeping coach Jan Zimmermann had four charges to work with, however: in addition to Jens Grahl and talented U19 stopper Matteo Bignetti, Diant Ramaj was able to complete a light session after two and a half months on the sidelines following knee surgery. Kevin Trapp was also back in action after straining a ligament in his wrist.

The Eagles will have one training session per day until Friday, before hosting TSG Hoffenheim at Deutsche Bank Park on Saturday.
