Eintracht Frankfurt have handed professional contracts to U19 talents Gianluca Schäfer and Jan Schröder. Winger Schäfer has penned a one-year deal until 2022, while left-back Schröder has signed for two years until 2023.
Schröder joined Eintracht at U15 level from Karbener SV in summer 2017. Having started as a midfielder, the 18-year-old has since developed into a left-back. Schröder was named captain of the U19 team for this season and already got a taste of the first team at the start of pre-season in the summer.
Schäfer, also 18, has progressed through the Eintracht youth system since 2015. As well as 25 appearances for the U17s, the attacker has also featured twice for the U19 side and seven times for Germany at youth level.
