“We’re not lacking much”

Ahead of the game away to VfL Wolfsburg, Adi Hütter gives his thoughts on Friday’s opponents and the upcoming fixtures.

Adi Hütter on...

…the match on Friday evening: “Tomorrow it’ll be important to keep a clean sheet again, so that the players get a sense of what that feels like in their heads. We’re not lacking much, but if we fine tune a couple of things, we’ve got everything we need to pick up all three points in Wolfsburg. We need to stay bold, be more clinical with our chances and more solid defensively. Then I’m confident we’ll get all three points soon.”

…personnel: “André Silva has had to take it easy of late. He was suffering with a muscular problem against Dortmund and has trained on his own this week. We need to wait and see whether he’s fit enough for tomorrow.”

We need to stay bold, be more clinical with our chances and more solid defensively. Then I’m confident we’ll get all three points soon.

Head coach Adi Hütter

…the busy end to the year in the Bundesliga: “We’ve got three games in the space of eight days coming up. Overall I think all the players can go the distance in every match if they get enough rest in between. But we’ve got a top-class squad and I’m happy I can make high-quality changes without the team’s level dropping.”

…VfL Wolfsburg: “They’re an extremely good team and they’re hard to beat. They’ve got a solid goalkeeper and defence, and in Maximilian Arnold and Wout Weghorst they’ve got two of the Bundesliga’s most dangerous players in their ranks. All of that is reflected in their league position at the moment.”

…Eintracht’s last game in Wolfsburg: “We have fond memories of our last away performance in Wolfsburg, but it won’t be easy tomorrow. They’re difficult to beat, they have a strong team and a good structure to their play. If we’re focused and perform to our best from start to finish then we can pick up another win.”
