Eintracht Frankfurt have strengthened their squad on the final day of the transfer window with Philipp Max. The left-back is returning to the Bundesliga after almost two and a half years in Eindhoven, where he won the domestic cup as well as the Dutch Super Cup twice. The 29-year-old registered eight goals and 20 assists in 117 appearances in all competitions for PSV.
Max previously played for FC Augsburg from 2015 to 2020, scoring 15 goals and setting up 29 in 156 games. The experienced defender made his Bundesliga debut in the colours of FC Schalke 04 in the 2013/14 season, the club where his father Martin Max plied his trade as a striker for four years in the 1990s.
Max has also represented Germany, winning the silver medal with the German team at the 2016 Olympics and collecting three further caps in 2020.
The 1.77 metre-tall full-back, who has been given the number 32 shirt, has already passed his medical at Eintracht and will take part in his first training session with the team at Deutsche Bank Park this morning.

With his qualities and his character, he fits into our team perfectly and we’re glad that we have the option to keep him for longer.”
