Paxten Aaronson, who joined Eintracht from Philadelphia Union in the USA midway through the 2022/23 season, has extended his contract with the Eagles until 30 June 2028. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder will be loaned out to FC Utrecht for the forthcoming 2024/25 campaign.
It means Aaronson will stay in the Netherlands for now, having spent the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivisie, where he scored four goals in 14 games.
Aaronson made his first-team debut for the Eagles in March 2023 in a Bundesliga match at 1. FC Union Berlin. As well as one outing for the Eintracht U21s, the New Jersey native has so far made 22 appearances for Eintracht in all competitions.
We absolutely believe in Paxten and are confident that he’ll make his mark in the Bundesliga with us after his spell in Utrecht.
Sporting director Timmo Hardung
“Paxten Aaronson has certainly shown promising signs with us and hinted at the potential that’s in him,” said sporting director Timmo Hardung. “The loan move to Vitesse Arnhem and the playing time he’s had there has given him a boost, as we hoped. For him it’s now important that he sticks at it and continues to play regularly. In Utrecht he has a good environment and a good club, where he can take the next step in his development. We absolutely believe in Paxten and are confident that he’ll make his mark in the Bundesliga with us after his spell in Utrecht.”
