The United States Soccer Federation (USSF) has called up Paxten Aaronson to the senior US Men's national team for the first time. The 19-year-old, who joined Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this month, has been included in the squad for the January Camp, which starts on Saturday.
The team will train under caretaker national team coach Anthony Hudson for several days and play in two international friendlies. Matches against Serbia (on 25 January at 19:00 local time / 26 January 04:00 CET at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, California) and Colombia (on 28 January at 16:30 local time / 29 January 01:30 CET at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California) have been scheduled.
For the Frankfurt attacker, who made his breakthrough into the professional game with four goals in 37 Major League Soccer (MLS) appearances for Philadelphia Union prior to his move to Germany, the nomination represents his first step with the senior men's national team.
The right-footer has scored eight goals in 14 U20 outings for his country to date. At the CONCACAF U20 Championship last year, Aaronson was crowned as the tournament's best player and top scorer with seven goals as the USA won the title.
