Paciencia on the scoresheet, Ache makes comeback

It finished 1-1 in the friendly between Eintracht and Nürnberg. The Eagles impressed for the first half-hour and only allowed the visitors into it towards the end, while Christopher Lenz was forced off early.

As Oliver Glasner announced on Sunday, the main purpose of the friendly was for players who have been less involved recently to get some match sharpness. Without 12 internationals, the SGE boss lived up to his word, with Tuta and Daichi Kamada the only players in the starting line-up who started all five games in March.

Muhammed Damar in action.

There was no change to the formation, though. Makoto Hasebe led the back three, there were three academy products in midfield in Aymen Barkok, U19 player Muhammed Damar and Timothy Chandler, while Sam Lammers, Kamada and Goncalo Paciencia formed a flexible attacking trio. Christopher Lenz was forced off in the 35th minute after suffering an injury while passing the ball, with Evan Ndicka replacing the 27-year-old. There was also a comeback for Ragnar Ache after his muscular problems, as he came on for Antonio Foti in the 76th minute.

Paciencia headed the Eagles in front after 10 minutes, a lead which they held until Pascal Köpke equalised for the Bundesliga 2 side nine minutes from time.

The Eintracht squad are now off until Monday before preparations for a busy April begin.
