Nils Stendera joins Hessen Kassel

The Eagles youngster is returning home after seven years with Eintracht.

Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed to sell Nils Stendera to KSV Hessen Kassel. The 20-year-old has been on trial with the Regionalliga (fourth division) outfit for over a week and has convinced the club to sign him on a permanent transfer. The midfielder returns to Kassel after spending time with the club as a youth team player.

Stendera joined the Eintracht academy in 2014, establishing himself as a crucial youth team player between U15 and U19 level and captaining the latter to safety in 2018/19. He was handed a contract until 2022 – his first as a professional – in January 2019.

The holding midfielder spent time with 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig last season. He made a good start to his loan spell, making 10 competitive appearances in all competitions, before the league was prematurely cancelled at the turn of the year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Stendera was training with the Eintracht first team until recently but now returns home after seven years with the Eagles.
