The 31-year-old winger, who joined Eintracht from Hamburger SV in the summer, has made 12 competitive appearances for the Eagles so far this term, scoring twice in the Bundesliga.
"Nicolai obviously wants to play more often than he has been doing for us recently," said Eintracht board member Fredi Bobic. "In that regard, a six-month loan is ideal. He'll have the chance to show what he can do in Hannover and to get more game time. It's important for him to play more – we've got no doubts about his potential."
