“Don’t want to let our advantage slip”

Adi Hütter discussed the opposition, team news and tactical options as he looked ahead to the match against Augsburg.

Adi Hütter on…

…the importance of Tuesday’s home match: “It is without doubt an important match. Up until Saturday, our performances in recent weeks were excellent. If we want to stay up there at the top, we need to win tomorrow. I'll be setting up the team accordingly.”

…personnel options: “Martin Hinteregger reported back fully after yesterday’s training session for those who didn’t play on Saturday, and also trained normally with the group today. He’s therefore a good option for tomorrow. Makoto Hasebe is also in contention.”

I can’t influence what the others do, but I can influence how we perform. We need to get results in order to exert pressure.

Head coach Adi Hütter

…options in attack: “We’re almost spoiled for choice in that we can play either with two number 10s or with two strikers. There are advantages to both options. We’ve now lost once with two strikers, but before that we’d played very well and won with that line-up.”

…opponents Augsburg: “We’re preparing for a battle. We need to find our way into the game well. We need to come up with answers, which we didn’t at the weekend. We want to get back to what we produced in previous weeks. The boys are concentrating on what we they can influence. We need to be up for the fight and focused, then we have the quality to beat Augsburg.”

...the league table: “We still have a four-point advantage and we don’t want to let it slip. I can’t influence what the others do, but I can influence how we perform. We need to get results in order to exert pressure.”
