Eintracht sign Sidney Raebiger

Eintracht Frankfurt have recruited Germany youth international Sidney Raebiger from Greuther Fürth. The 18-year-old midfielder has signed a professional contract for the 2023/24 campaign.

Sidney Raebiger, who has primarily been earmarked for Eintracht’s U21 side in the South-West Regionalliga (fourth division), moved to Leipzig from the SV Fortuna Langenau youth academy.

He made a total of 27 competitive appearances across Leipzig’s U17 and U19 teams, including five in the UEFA Youth League, recording eight goals and seven assists.

We’re confident in his talent and will carefully develop him in our U21 side.

Raebiger made his senior debut on 7 August 2021 as Leipzig earned a 4-0 win over SV Sandhausen in the DFB Cup first round. His maiden Bundesliga outing also arrived in the 2021/22 campaign, against 1. FSV Mainz 05 on Matchday 18.

The midfielder moved from the DFB Cup winners to SpVgg Greuther Fürth at the start of the 2022/23 season and went on to make three Bundesliga 2 appearances for the club.

Eintracht sporting director Timmo Hardung: “Sidney is a very interesting player and is still at the start of a highly promising path. We’re confident in his talent and will carefully develop him in our U21 side.”
