Youngster Collins signs for Frankfurt

Germany U19 international Nnamdi Collins joins Eintracht from Borussia Dortmund on a contract until 2028.

Born in Düsseldorf in 2004, Nnamdi Collins came through the ranks at Fortuna Düsseldorf before joining Borussia Dortmund’s youth academy in 2016. The defender went on to make 78 appearances combined for the U17s and U19s.

Collins helped the Black-and-Yellows win the German U19 title in 2022, before captaining the side in last season’s championship final. He also made eight appearances for Dortmund’s U23s in the third division last term, as well as another eight as captain of the U19s in the UEFA Youth League.

The 19-year-old has also gained international experience with Germany’s youth teams, making 15 appearances between U15 and U19 level to date. His last outing came back in March, when Germany beat Slovenia 3-0 in a U19 European Championship qualifier.

Eintracht sporting director Timmo Hardung: “Nnamdi Collins is one of the most promising German youngsters in his position. We have a clear, long-term plan with Nnamdi and are delighted he has chosen us and our path. With Nnamdi’s help, we want to further his development as best we can in the short to medium term, while helping him fulfil his footballing potential.”
