Training

Start of another important week

After the victory at Dortmund, the Eagles’ attention turned towards VfL Wolfsburg as they returned to training.

Saturday’s 2-1 win against BVB was a hugely important one, and after a day to recover, the Eagles were full of vigour as they began preparations for another crucial encounter at home to Wolfsburg this Saturday.

As well as long-term absentees Ragnar Ache, Jabez Makanda and Almamy Toure, coach Adi Hütter also had to do without Amin Younes and Martin Hinteregger. Younes worked individually after picking up a knock but it’s hoped he will be fit for Saturday, while no risks are being taken with Hinteregger.

It’s fourth versus third at Deutsche Bank Park in the big fixture of Matchday 28. Djibril Sow highlighted the visitors’ defensive strength. “Physically, Wolfsburg are probably the best team in the league,” said the Eintracht midfielder. “But we’re still unbeaten at home this season and are therefore going into the game full of confidence.”
