Adi Hütter on...
...the home game against Stuttgart: “VfB are having a great season. They play attractive football, they’re quick in transition and have exciting players, particularly up front. But we also like to attack and do so with pace. It should be an interesting game. Both teams have one aim: to play attacking and attractive football. Their playing style is a reflection of head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo: constantly moving forward, bold and exciting football. I like it. VfB went into the season with a lot of unknown players and have been a valuable addition to the Bundesliga. We clearly want to win and show a reaction to the defeat in Bremen.”
…personnel: “Tuta has had a slight pain in his glutes recently. We’ve taken him out [of training] as a precaution, but I’m expecting him to be fit for Saturday. Other than that, everyone’s available. We’re very confident about Sebastian Rode too.”
We want to give it everything until the end and fight for a place in the top four.
Head coach Adi Hütter
...the lessons from the defeat at Bremen: “When you’ve not lost for a long time, it’s an unusual feeling. Nevertheless, defeats can always happen in football. Now it’s about using our strengths to get back to winning ways.”
...the situation in the table: “When you’re in fourth place at this stage, you’ve got a great chance. We want to do everything we can to achieve something extraordinary. That’s only possible if our sole focus as a team is on our next challenge. That’s what we’re doing. We want to give it everything until the end and fight for a place in the top four.”
...Ali Akman: "Ali Akman hasn’t been in an easy situation and will therefore join us earlier. He’ll go into quarantine before undergoing the necessary tests. He’ll start team training before the end of the season.”
