Marmoush back in training

The Egyptian is back in Frankfurt and completed most parts of Tuesday’s training session, described by Philipp Max as “short and sharp”. Hugo Ekitiké completed performance tests.

Omar Marmoush is back with the Eagles. The 24-year-old, who stayed behind in Egypt last week following his country’s exit from the Africa Cup of Nations because of a feverish cold, completed sections of training with the team on Tuesday as his workload is still being managed.

While deadline-day signing Hugo Ekitiké, who made his debut in an Eintracht shirt at Köln, completed performance tests at the ProfiCamp, U19 talent Marko Mladenovic got another taste of first-team training.

“Fire in,” Dino Toppmöller shouted: “Pressure, pressure, pressure.” The head coach's unmistakable message was also echoed in the following exercises: “Speed it up!” One group combined quickly over 30 to 35 meters and with as few touches as possible before shooting at goal.

“The session was short and sharp,” Philipp Max told EintrachtTV afterwards. Looking ahead to the upcoming match against Bochum on Saturday 10 February at Deutsche Bank Park (15:30 CET), the left-back said: “Bochum are always awkward to play against. A lot of long balls, sharp in the tackle – they know their strengths in these situations. We have to fully stand up to that, which was missing at times in Cologne. We have to demonstrate that and want to get the points.”
