Michael Skibbe: A Highly Interesting Match

On one hand players like Russ, Franz and Tzavellas are likely to return in time for Sunday's game against Moenchengladbach (kick off at 17.30h CET). On the other hand further dropouts were added to the already injury stricken squad. During today's pre match press conference manager Michael Skibbe offered the insights.

Mr Skibbe, now Martin Fenin also seems to struggle with an injury?
He suffered from a thigh knock and is bruised, he is also questionable for Sunday’s game.

But various players are about to return?
Yes. Georgios Tzavellas will be back in the squad. Also Maik Franz will return, and Marco Russ who became father of a son today. Pirmin Schwegler will come back from his suspension.

Pirmin Schwegler announced that he will not extend his contract for now.
Yes. He notified the club officials and me regarding his decision. He would like to wait and see how his prospects will develop at Eintracht. His contract runs until 2012. I am positive that we will take the development from a sporting point of view in order to convince him of a promising personal outlook.

How does it look for Chris?
He fully trained with the team three times now and he is closing the gap more and more. He even might be in the squad on Sunday.

Is Caio going to join the squad after his transfer to Moscow fell through?
Yes. I am happy to have him here, his sporting home is with us. He is comfortable and not disappointed about the move failing. I hope that he will have many good games for us.

Moenchengladbach signed various new players, the latest one is Michael Fink from Besiktas Istanbul. What has changed since Eintracht's 4-0 win away to Gladbach in September 2010?
Nothing drastic has changed in the way they play. The new signings of course liven up the situation. We have respect for our opponent but we certainly do want to win the game and collect three points. I am expecting a highly interesting match.
