Matanovic loaned to Karlsruhe

Igor Matanovic signed a contract with Eintracht Frankfurt in July 2021 and was subsequently loaned back to his former club FC St. Pauli for two years, where he registered two goals and five assists in 42 competitive appearances.

The 20-year-old has been with Eintracht since the start of July this year, and completed the team’s pre-season preparations for 2023/24. The Hamburg native scored four times across friendlies against FSV Braunfels, TSV Steinbach Haiger and SG Barockstadt Fulda-Lehnerz.

Now Matanovic has been loaned to Karlsruher SC for the 2023/24 season. No purchase option exists as part of the deal.

Eintracht sporting director Timmo Hardung: “We’re absolutely confident in Igor’s qualities. It's still very important for his development that he gains enough playing time. Igor knows the league very well and will get the chance to play for an ambitious Bundesliga 2 club.”
