Marco Russ diagnosed with Tumour Disease

Marco Russ has been diagnosed with a heavy tumour disease. We wish him all the best for a quick and full recovery!

Eintracht Frankfurt have been informed yesterday by DFB's Anti-Doping Commission about a positive doping test concerning Marco Russ. The test had shown an unusually high amount of the hormone HCG.

Following a medical examination by a urologist, Marco Russ has been diagnosed with a heavy tumour disease. The analysis was confirmed by a blood test later during the day. The Anti-Doping Commission had already indicated that instead of drug abuse, the high HCG level could be caused by the body following a disease.

Despite the shocking news, Marco Russ said that he is ready and willing to play tonight's relegation play-off match against 1. FC Nürnberg, which has been approved by the medical staff.

Get well soon, Marco! Our thoughts are with you and your family.
