“Huge compliments to the team”

Oliver Glasner, Kevin Trapp and Martin Hinteregger were delighted with the Eagles’ performance in Sunday’s important victory in Munich.

Head coach Oliver Glasner: “We’re incredibly pleased with the victory. Huge compliments to the team. I can only thank them for their spirit and passion, defensively in particular. We’re very happy going into the international break. We won’t get carried away with the result –  our goalkeeper was fantastic and we got lucky when they hit the post before half-time. We still have a lot to work on – when it comes to making the most of our attacking opportunities, for example. We’re enjoying the moment, because it’s very difficult to win at the Allianz Arena.”

A result like that can help increase our belief in our strengths.

Kevin Trapp: “It was hard work today. We knew we could get something. Having a bit of luck obviously plays a part. It was a very intense game and I take my hat off to the team. We’ve beaten Bayern – they’re in unbelievable form but we got maximum points. A result like that can help increase our belief in our strengths.”

Martin Hinteregger: “Every game here is intense. Bayern never gave us any breathing space and kept us in our own half throughout. That said, we had a few scoring opportunities and we made the most of them. We can be very happy with the three points. If you make a mistake like I did for the opener, that’s not good – that was a wake-up call. After that we were in the game, played football and were more courageous. The win is enormously important for us. I hope we can maintain this momentum until after the international break.”
