Salzburg reunion
Hütter won the Austrian double in the 2014/15 season with Salzburg. In his team back then were current Leipzig players Peter Gulacsi, Marcel Sabitzer, Kevin Kampl and Konrad Laimer. Captain Sabitzer was playing with Martin Hinteregger and Stefan Ilsanker – also ex-Salzburg players – for Austria last weekend, but on Saturday they’ll be on opposing sides again.
SGE dominant against Leipzig at home
The head-to-head record between the two teams is perfectly balanced, with three wins each and three draws in their nine competitive meetings, plus an aggregate score of 12-12. The last time the clubs met was on 4 February 2020 in the last 16 of the DFB Cup, when Eintracht triumphed 3-1 at home.
The Eagles are yet to lose to Leipzig on home turf and have scored in all five games in Frankfurt, registering 10 goals in total. “In recent years, we’ve consistently proven that we can deliver against the supposedly bigger teams and step up to that level.
