Bundesliga football club Eintracht Frankfurt and Korean technology company LG are set to extend their successful partnership for the long term. In what will be their first project together since Eintracht Frankfurt and new naming rights owners Deutsche Bank took over the management of the stadium area, one of Europe’s most unique and modern video cubes will be installed at the Deutsche Bank Park this coming August.
LG has been actively involved with Eintracht Frankfurt since the beginning of last year and significantly extended the scope of its partnership with the club during the 2019/20 season.
The cube weighs in at 6,900 kilogrammes and has a surface area of 276 square metres on which to show replays of Eagles goals from next season onwards, on what will be Europe’s only four-sided display with continuous images. It will contain almost six million LEDs and have an incredible resolution of 6,628 x 865 pixels. The vertical resolution will be the best of any international stadium, while the horizontal resolution will provide better picture quality than 4K displays.
“We are delighted to be working side-by-side with a renowned and innovative partner like LG, with whom we can implement projects such as this,” said member of the board Axel Hellmann.
