Eintracht Frankfurt and NEC Nijmegen have agreed a loan move for Ali Akman, which will see the attacker stay with the Dutch Eredivisie club until the end of the 2021/22 season.
Eintracht confirmed Akman as their second summer signing last February, but with his contract terminated early by Turkish second-division club Bursaspor, the 19-year-old was able to take part in first-team training from March onwards. Until recently, he was fully involved in pre-season preparations, scoring his first goal for the Eagles in the 6-1 friendly win over FC Gießen. Akman has a contract in Frankfurt until 30 June 2025.
“Ali is a very gifted player and very advanced for his age,” said Eintracht board member Markus Krösche. “However, it’s important that he gets regular playing time. He will have the right conditions at NEC Nijmegen at a well-run club in a strong league, and we’re sure that he will take the next steps in his development there this season.”
