Midfielder Dominik Kohr has left Eintracht Frankfurt to join Bundesliga rivals 1. FSV Mainz 05 on an initial loan deal until 30 June 2021.
“We saw at the end of last season that Dominik can play at a very high level and has great potential,” Eintracht board member Fredi Bobic said of Kohr, whose Eagles contract runs until 30 June 2024. “In our squad, we currently have other players in his position who are higher in the pecking order. That’s why the move is a sensible and logical one at this stage. We’d like to wish Dominik all the best for his time in Mainz. We’ll reassess the situation in the summer.”
Kohr joined Eintracht from Bayer 04 Leverkusen at the beginning of the 2019/20 season. The 26-year-old has made 49 appearances for the club, registering one goal and five assists.
