Among the world’s best

Kevin Trapp attended the Ballon d’Or ceremony in person on Monday night and was named sixth best goalkeeper in the world in 2021/22.

t was an evening that Kevin Trapp will remember for a very long time. Alongside fiancée Izabel Goulart, the Eintracht goalkeeper walked the red carpet in Paris on Monday evening as one of the best players of the 2021/22 campaign. Trapp had been shortlisted by French sports magazine France Football for the Yashin Trophy – an accolade awarded to the world’s  best goalkeeper as part of the annual Ballon d’Or ceremony.

The 32-year-old was a near ever-present for Eintracht during the 2021/22 season, missing just two of a possible 48 competitive games and playing the full 90 minutes in every appearance. He earned countless plaudits in both the Bundesliga and in the UEFA Europa League, as the Eagles went on to lift the trophy in Seville. He was consequently named in the Europa League Team of the Season as the competition’s best goalkeeper.
