Kevin-Prince Boateng to receive 1LIVE special award

Kevin-Prince Boateng is to receive the ‘1LIVE Krone’ radio award for his anti-racism work.

Eintracht’s Kevin-Prince Boateng will receive the 1LIVE special award this Thursday, 7 December, as part of the 18th annual ‘1LIVE Krone’ awards ceremony in Bochum. The 1LIVE Krone awards are Germany’s biggest radio awards ceremony and the gala will be broadcast live from the Jahrhunderthalle on WDR from 20:15 CET.

Boateng, who has been recognised by the 1LIVE editors for his commitment to tackling racism, said prior to the event: “Receiving this award shows that people are listening and that it’s something which is still important to a lot of people. That’s very gratifying and I’m delighted that I’ve reached more people to continue the fight against racism.”

Recent winners of the 1LIVE Krone special award include radio presenter Domian, cult hip-hop act Fettes Brot, BAP lead singer Wolfgang Niedecken and punk band Pussy Riot.
