After joining the Eagles in 2017, the Japanese attacker was loaned to Sint-Truidense V.V. for the 2018/19 campaign. The technically gifted Samurai Blue international scored 16 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions for the Belgian top-flight outfit before establishing himself as a Bundesliga player last season. The 24-year-old spent 3,381 minutes on the pitch in 48 competitive appearances in 2019/20 – the third most in the Eintracht squad.
The club has spent a lot of effort on me and given me the impression that they really want to keep hold of me.Daichi Kamada
“Daichi Kamada is a perfect illustration of how we are able to develop and nurture young players,” said Eintracht board member Fredi Bobic. “The loan also did him good. He made great progress in Belgium and was very impressive for us last season. We’re pleased that Daichi has decided to stay with us. We’re sure he can play an important role in our team in the coming years.”
“I feel very happy in Europe and in Frankfurt in particular,” added the four-time Japan international, who is looking forward to his future at the club. “Last season I was able to bring my strengths to the team and I want to take my next steps here. The club has spent a lot of effort on me and given me the impression that they really want to keep hold of me. I obviously want to repay them with good performances and continue my development.”
