“We’re a very good team at the moment”

Adi Hütter and his players are determined to keep their good form going after Sunday’s win at Hoffenheim, but nobody is getting carried away.

Head coach Adi Hütter: “I was very pleased when I left the pitch because we thoroughly deserved to win. The team deserve enormous credit. Filip [Kostic] was the man of the match, judging by the stats. The most important thing was realising that we’d played well in a lot of games that ended in draws, but were lacking that final five to ten per cent. Being in fourth place is impressive. We’ve got that fluidity and self-belief. We showed our authority after conceding the equaliser and made it clear that we wanted to win the game. We’re a very good team at the moment.”

We needed everyone’s help to get the win, but we deserved it in the end. We created more chances and always tried to play on the front foot.

Evan Ndicka: “We’re very happy with the win, and to score a goal makes the whole thing even more enjoyable. I’d have taken the victory even if I hadn’t scored, though. We’re consistently picking up points and putting in a lot of effort, not just in games. It all starts on the training pitch. Our run is just reward for our hard work.”

André Silva: “We didn’t press well in the first half but tried everything, and after taking the lead we were in control of the game until the break. We pressed better in the second half and scored two goals. We needed everyone’s help to get the win, but we deserved it in the end. We created more chances and always tried to play on the front foot.”
