Jan Zimmermann extends contract by three years

The goalkeeping coach will be staying with Eintracht Frankfurt until at least 2024.

Eintracht Frankfurt and Jan Zimmermann have agreed an early contract extension until 30 June 2024. The goalkeeping coach’s commitment to Eintracht means that the club’s entire coaching staff are now on long-term contracts, after Adi Hütter, Christian Peintinger and Armin Reutershahn signed new deals until 2023 last year.

Zimmermann began coaching Eintracht’s goalkeepers in January 2020, when he was still registered as a first-team player. The 35-year-old born and bred Hessian is regarded as a club stalwart, having joined the youth academy at Riederwald way back in 1994 before going on to make his professional debut with the Eagles in 2005.

Board member Fredi Bobic said: “Jan is always searching for new ideas and thinks outside the box for his material. His modern training methods have been instrumental in the continuous improvement in the performance of our goalkeeping team.”
