…recent training sessions: “It’s not easy, but we’re just happy to be more or less together again after 14 days, and to be working in small groups since Friday. There’s no replacement for team training, though. We’re missing being able to work on systems with several people and committing challenges. It’s a little different to be training in groups of two, then having to play 10 against 10 in a match when you’re not used to certain spaces anymore.”...inconsistent regulations: “That’s to do with the fact that there are different laws in different federal states. Of course it would be better to train with seven or eight players. That’s why it would make sense to come to a common agreement so that all Bundesliga clubs have the same conditions. The current situation isn’t fair, but the clubs can’t do anything about that.”
“We’re looking forward to doing our jobs again”
…a potential return to action in May: “We’re all hoping we might be able to return in May. It would be valuable and important for our society to be able to watch football on TV. Playing without fans and emotions will certainly take some getting used to, but we’re looking forward to doing our jobs again.”…playing behind closed doors: “Nobody can estimate the effects because we’ve never played football in these conditions before. Maybe in time it will become the norm for us. Having said that, it’s a special situation because every club and player loves the emotions that come with it - especially in Frankfurt, where we’re capable of producing great performances with our fans behind us.”
