After being pushed to his limits alongside his Eintracht colleagues in Wednesday’s training session, striker Jonathan Burkardt spoke to the media about …
… Wednesday morning’s session: “It was definitely tough – but needed. It was a lot of fun.”
… Eintracht’s preferred style of play: “I think it suits me very well – pressing high, playing with intensity and winning the ball early, which means having a short path to goal. That’s exactly what we’re practising at the moment, which I think you can see in our sessions. It’s a lot of fun.”
The long break definitely did me good. I was able to recover early on before focusing on training.

… his physical condition: “The long break definitely did me good. I was able to recover early on before focusing on training. I’d already put in a lot of work beforehand and I’m feeling really good and fit now. I’ve been able to take full part in all the sessions so far.”
… last season: “I made the most of the time I had to have another look at how last season went, what I did well and what I can improve. That’s how I want to keep developing. I set new goals, reflect on the goals I set myself the season before, what worked well and what I can do better. I’ve already made progress in areas like nutrition and overall endurance. I noticed that straight away in our first two friendlies.”
