International momentum at every level

Stories and faces, numbers and quotes, games and goals. A look back at the Eagles‘ November.

Story of the month: Big in Japan

Seven days, two games and numerous other activities: in mid-November, the Eagles travelled to Japan to leave their mark in one of the club’s target markets. ‘Building Bridges’ is the motto of Eintracht Frankfurt’s internationalisation strategy, and in the Land of the Rising Sun, Frankfurt didn’t just use existing bridges but also built new ones. An example of this is the club partnership with Urawa Red Diamonds, which was sealed at the Saitama Stadium 2002.

Board member for sport Markus Krösche summarised: “We weren’t just welcomed with open arms everywhere, but also experienced some of the things that define this club: approachability and cosmopolitanism.” Head coach Oliver Glasner agreed: “On behalf of the team and Eintracht Frankfurt, I’d like to give thanks for the great reception and hospitality that we’ve experienced at every point in Japan.”

Number of the month: 2026

The tour started with a visit by Makoto Hasebe and Uwe Bein to the Indeed office in Tokyo. The job site has rented office space in the fast-growing district of Azabu since 2019.

Just before that, Eintracht and Indeed, which has been the club’s main sponsor since 2017, announced an extension of their deal until 2026. The approach is more holistic than ever, with the company logo also appearing on the women's jersey from next season.

Face of the month: Sebastian Rode

Sebastian Rode can also comfortably be described as an institution on the Main. After Eintracht reached the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League for the first time, Rode declared: “For me personally this is also historic. Particularly with a club like Eintracht Frankfurt, to even play in the Champions League and to then get through to the next round means a great deal.”

In the final group game away to Sporting Clube de Portugal, with Eintracht 1-0 down at half-time and heading out of the competition, Rode came on, brought order, drove the team on and initiated the turnaround. UEFA accordingly named him Player of the Match.

UEFA named Sebastian Rode Player of the Match.

Game of the month: Last 16!

It was a breathtaking night all round in Group D, with the table changing seven times in total from kick-off to full time! Eintracht were bottom at half-time and briefly first after their winning goal in the 73rd minute in Lisbon, until Tottenham Hotspur reclaimed top spot in stoppage time.

Goal of the month: Randal Kolo Muani

The goal that fired Frankfurt into the knockout stages was scored by Randal Kolo Muani. The burly striker skilfully controlled the ball with his chest, sized up in the same movement and then buried the ball into the far corner with as much power as precision. Later in the month, the summer signing received a late call-up for the World Cup and also set a new record at this stage of a Bundesliga season with nine assists.

Quote of the month:

It’s important for us that we keep picking up points in the Bundesliga. So there might be a glass of wine, but no big party.
