While Eintracht have been making headlines across Europe with their performances in Barcelona and London, the number of people using the club’s social media platforms has been rising constantly. Thanks in part to their recent success on the pitch, the Eagles have passed the one-million-follower mark on Facebook.
That figure is made up of the followers of Eintracht’s German account and its international variations. The German channel leads the way with approximately 441,000 likes, followed by Spain (222,000), England (207,000), Portugal (81,000), India (33,000) and the USA (23,000).
Recent magical Europa League nights against Barcelona at Deutsche Bank Park and Camp Nou in particular have helped the club pass the one-million threshold. In the week of the second leg, nearly 32,000 new members – half of them English-speaking – joined SGE’s Facebook community. The video posted after the final whistle, which shows the players celebrating their place in the semi-finals with the travelling fans, has reached almost 2.5 million people to date.
