Various Eintracht players featured in matches for their national teams and it has been a successful weekend for most of them.

Croatian defender Gordon Schildenfeld, a regular in Eintracht's back four, played the full 90 minutes in his country's EURO 2012 first leg play-off on Friday night away to Turkey. Croatia held on to a clean sheet and even won the match 3-0 at the Turk Telekom Stadium in Istanbul - a more than promising result ahead of the return match on Tuesday in Zagreb.

Eintracht's youngsters Sebastian Jung and Stefan Bell both played the full qualifying game (European Under-21 Championship 2013) for Germany's Under-21 away to Greece. In what proved to be a rollercoaster match Germany finally won 5-4 scoring the winner five minutes into stoppage time! Stefan Bell had netted the 4-3 lead for Germany after 87 minutes, Greece managed to get one back (90'+3) before finally Mlapa scored the match winning goal (90'+5). On Tuesday Germany's Under-21 will play another qualifier against Cyprus.

Theofanis Gekas featured in a friendly for Greece's first team away to Russia for 77 minutes, the final score was 1-1. Greece will play another friendly away to Romania on Tuesday.

Karim Matmour missed a friendly for Algeria against Tunisia, final score 1-0 due to a minor injury he suffered in training. Algeria will play another friendly against Cameroon on Tuesday.

Erwin 'Jimmy' Hoffer will join the Austrian squad for a friendly away to the Ukraine, also on Tuesday.
