International Eagles

During the 2. Bundesliga break seven Eagles were 'missing in action' as they followed call ups for various international duties.

Karim Matmour played the full 90 minutes for Algeria against Tansania in a qualifying match for the African Cup of Nations 2012 last weekend (final score 1-1).

Gordon Schildenfeld was on the Croatian bench during both 3-1 wins away to Malta and against Israel.

Erwin 'Jimmy' Hoffer was subbed on for Austria after 73 minutes during the 2-6 against Germany last Friday. In the goalless draw against Turkey Hoffer came from the bench again (after 67 minutes).

Sebastian Jung appeared as right defender for Germany's Under-21 for the maximum playing time during the qualifiers for EURO 2013 against San Marino (7-0 win) and Belarus (1-0 win). Sebastian Rode was also called up for these matches but stayed on the bench.

Defender Stefan Bell played 86 minutes during Germany's Under-20 match last week against Poland (4-2 win) but was on the bench against Switzerland (2-1 win).

Georgios Tzavellas was on the bench for Greece during the game against Latvia (1-1) - a big step on the way to his comeback after a long term knee injury.
