SGE was the only top flight club participating and their opponents were SV Waldhof Mannheim, Karlsruher SC, SV Sandhausen and 1. FC Kaiserslautern. The first round included games against all of the above, the two best teams would qualify for the final.
After three wins and a defeat Eintracht played the final against Karlsruhe and won 9-8 on penalties.
