“The balance is just right”

Ahead of the game against Köln, Adi Hütter shares his thoughts on the atmosphere in the squad, the mood among the fans and his personal record against ‘FC’.

Adi Hütter on…

…the atmosphere in the squad: “There’s a really good atmosphere in the team at the moment because we’re capable of winning our games in style every week. It’s nice to see the lads laughing a lot. On the whole, we’ve struck just the right balance between fun and concentration. We work very hard and focused during the week in order to produce good performances at the weekend. We’re pleased with our development, but we know we can’t afford to drop off by a single percentage point.”

personnel: “All the players are available. It’s phenomenal how the backroom staff always manage to get all the lads fit in time for matchday. The lads are showing good character and train even when they’ve got a niggle. That’s remarkable.”

…conceding goals: “If I could choose, I wouldn’t mind conceding a goal as long as we win. It’s all about victories at the end of the day. The fact that we sometimes leave spaces is down to our attacking style, but we still don’t concede many chances.”

Head coach Adi Hütter

…the mood among the fans: “I can well imagine how the fans are feeling at the moment, because they’re excited and happy for us. It’s nice that we’re receiving a lot of compliments as a team, because that really motivates us. We need to remain focused.”

…the game against 1. FC Köln: “The last home game against FC Köln was one of the most frustrating defeats since I’ve been here. Ultimately it’s about where we finish in the league, although I’d be pleased to beat Köln for the first time.”
