Adi Hütter on…
…his first impressions of Frankfurt:
“I caught a glimpse of the stadium on my flight from Zurich to Frankfurt yesterday. I could feel the excitement running through me. I had a very good feeling after holding talks with Fredi Bobic, Bruno Hübner and the other board members, and I have the same feeling today. I’m just really excited about working for such a big club.”
…his reaction to receiving an offer from Frankfurt:
“I made no secret of the fact that I wanted to work in the Bundesliga some day, but it had to be the right club, with a good setup and with potential. I had a really good feeling after talking to the board. It’s obvious that Eintracht Frankfurt are a great club.”
…what lies ahead:
“I haven’t had time to think too much about the future - I was still with Young Boys until last Sunday. Eintracht played brilliant football last season. They were excellent in the first half of the campaign and ended up winning a trophy. My predecessor Niko Kovac did an outstanding job, but I want to improve the team even more. It’s a big job, but I’m not daunted by it.”
…his preferred style of play:
“I obviously like to play attacking football - that’s what gets people to come to the stadium. You always have to have a Plan B, though. I’m sure we’ll find the right balance. In the coming weeks we need to develop a style that suits the players.”
…himself:
“I’m a team player and a good communicator. While I’m here I also want to get to know the players off the pitch. Other than that, I believe in discipline and respect - not to mention hard work. I’m not looking to be my players’ best friend, but I won’t be their enemy either.”
…the UEFA Europa League:
“I’ve been in the Europa League with Salzburg and Bern in recent years. I don’t view it as a burden, I’m really looking forward to being involved in Europe. There’s huge excitement here in Frankfurt. The stadium will be packed to the rafters for every home game.”
