"I'm expecting a fierce battle" – Niko Kovac's key quotes ahead of the visit of Bayer Leverkusen

Prior to Eintracht Frankfurt's meeting with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, Eagles coach Niko Kovac offers an injury update and discusses the importance of home advantage.

Head coach Niko Kovac on...

... Eintracht's personnel situation: "We had 22 players in our final training session. Although they had to cut short training this week, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Carlos Salcedo and Jetro Willems are all fit again and so could start on Saturday."

... Saturday's game: "We're looking forward to it, because home games are always a bit special. We'll have 48,000 fans behind us and there'll be real support for the boys. The lads get a second wind - or even a third wind - with such support."

... Saturday's opponents, Bayer Leverkusen: "I'm expecting Bayer to be as strong on Saturday as they have been in the last few weeks. They've found their footing under new coach Heiko Herrlich and have put together a good little run. They're particularly good going forward, but they've obviously been doing some work defensively recently, too. It's going to be a tight game on Saturday; I'm expecting it to be a fierce battle, but hopefully one that ends well for us."

... Frankfurt's aims: "A look at the table shows you that it's all very, very tight in the Bundesliga at the moment. It's just a snapshot, though. The players are allowed to dream about Europe. That's part and parcel of football and dreams can sometimes give you that little bit of an extra push. I don’t intend to achieve my dreams by talking about them, though; I intend to achieve them by working hard. If you want to finish near the top of the table, then you have to give it 110 per cent. Our first aim is to collect as many points as possible and continue building a bit of a cushion on the sides below us."
