“I’m a team player” - New signing André Silva introduces himself

After joining Eintracht Frankfurt from AC Milan on the final day of the German transfer window, new signing André Silva reveals what he already knows about the Eagles.

André Silva chats to EintrachtTV.
Hello, André! How do you feel after arriving in Frankfurt just a few hours ago?
“First of all, I’d like to extend warm greetings to all Eintracht fans. I’m André Silva and I’m delighted to become an Eagles player! I’m happy to be here and can hardly wait to get started. I want to achieve a lot with my new club.”

How much do you already know about Eintracht?
“I’ve followed a lot of Europa League games, particularly as I was playing in the competition myself last season. Eintracht’s performances impressed me at the time. The team’s excellent displays attracted attention.”

Your compatriot Goncalo Paciencia played a part in that. Had you spoken to him before about Frankfurt?
“I’d obviously spoken with Goncalo a lot. He was able to tell me a lot about Eintracht. After that, I was even more motivated to play for the club and its amazing fans, about whom I’ve heard many good things. Goncalo was raving about the fans always supporting the team from the first second to the last – whatever the circumstances. To me, that sounded like a very appealing place to play football.”

What do you know about German football in general?
“Goncalo has already told me about that, too. Overall he’s very impressed, particularly with the sold-out stadiums.”

How would you describe yourself as a player?
“I’m a player who works and fights a lot on the pitch. I don’t only define myself by my goalscoring record, but rather see myself as a team player who likes to help my team-mates. If I can do that by scoring goals, then so much the better (laughs). That’s how I want to make the fans happy.”
