Daichi, you had to pull out of training today. Is it anything to worry about?
Daichi Kamada: “No. I felt something in the back of my thigh but could have finished the session. The coach didn’t want to take any risks, though, which is why I stopped. I’ll be back for tomorrow’s double session, so it’s nothing serious.”
How are you feeling after returning to the club?
Kamada: “I feel like I’ve taken a step in the right direction since last year. The time in Belgium definitely helped me grow. I’m feeling very good indeed at the moment and I’m happy to have made that step. I have a lot more confidence.”
The coach recently said you’re laughing a lot more and are much more open. Is that true?
Kamada: “[Laughs] I don’t like to contradict my coach, but I don’t think I’m behaving a lot differently than before. Maybe it just seems that way. Of course I was more reserved at the beginning - I had to adjust to a new country and new people. Then when I moved to Belgium, everything was new again. Coming back was a lot easier as I was familiar with my surroundings in Frankfurt. I have a feeling that people are seeing me in a different light now. Maybe that’s where that impression comes from.”
