“I can’t wait for the season to start” - Marco Fabián interview

Marco, Eintracht face Bayern Munich in the Supercup on Sunday. Are you ready?
“We’re well prepared and highly motivated. Facing Bayern Munich is always brilliant, and this time we get to do so in front of our fans in our own stadium. You could hardly wish for a better start to the season.”

What did you make of the training camp in Gais?
“I think it was a very important week and one in which we worked very hard, both on tactical and physical aspects. The team are growing together and the new signings are becoming more and more settled. As far as I’m concerned it was an excellent training camp.”

What else is required to bring you fully up to speed?
“I can hardly wait for the season to get under way. I’m itching to get started. I’m in great shape physically and mentally and I’m really enjoying myself. Now I want to show everyone how badly I want to nail down a [first-team] place under the new head coach.”

Ante Rebic took part in training [on Wednesday] after returning from his post-World Cup holiday. How did he do on his return?
“We congratulated him on being a World Cup runner-up. He had a great tournament with [Croatia]. We’re all thrilled that he’s back with us now. Ante is a very important player for us.”
