“I can hardly wait to be out on the pitch” - Frederik Rönnow interview

New Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Frederik Rönnow has been unable to take full part in training due to a knee injury, but the Dane has enjoyed his first few days as an Eagles player nonetheless.

Frederik, how is your knee injury?
“It’s getting better day by day. It really isn’t anything serious. I think I’ll be able to resume training in a couple of days, and I can hardly wait!”

How did it happen?
“During my first training session I stopped suddenly and twisted my knee a bit. It’s a bit frustrating to see the boys play without being able to get involved myself. It’s a long season, though. That’s why I need to keep my chin up and keep working hard - then I’ll be back again soon.”

You’ve been at Eintracht for almost a week now. What are your first impressions?

“There’s a lot to process at first but the team spirit and the atmosphere are definitely very good. There’s also a lot of laughing and we mess around a lot together.”

You said previously that you wanted to learn German. Are you making progress?
“A bit (laughs). At school I had a choice between French and German. I chose French, but I’d choose differently now. In general there isn’t that much difference between German and Danish, so I’ll manage.”
