Eagles back in training

Erik Durm returned to full training as preparations for the meeting against his former club got under way.

The preparations for Saturday’s Bundesliga match against Borussia Dortmund began on late Tuesday morning. Like last week, the training pitch was rather empty as Eintracht are still without 12 internationals as well as a number of injured players.

Of those who are left in Frankfurt and are fit, only Sebastian Rode was absent from the field, working individually instead.

Eintracht goalkeeper Elias Bördner.

Durm, who trained with the group again for the first time since his hip strain, is looking forward to the encounter with his former teammates this weekend. “Of course, I’m looking forward to going to Dortmund because I know a lot of faces,” he said. “I think it’s an evenly matched contest. We can be proud of the fact that we’re performing so well at the moment and are ahead of BVB. The pressure is definitely on them.”

Most of the national team players are still in action today and on Wednesday, leaving only Thursday and Friday for the whole squad to get ready for the trip to Dortmund.
