Hinteregger’s first encounter with England

The centre-back played against England for the first time. Elsewhere, Trapp and Ilsanker were unused substitutes, but Akman saw plenty of action.

Austria played their penultimate warm-up friendly ahead of EURO 2020 against England in Middlesbrough, where they went down to a 1-0 defeat. Martin Hinteregger played the full 90 minutes, while Stefan Ilsanker remained on the bench.

Germany drew 1-1 against Denmark in their friendly in Innsbruck. Eintracht goalkeepers Kevin Trapp and Frederik Rönnow did not feature.

Meanwhile, Ali Akman played 76 minutes in Turkey U21s’ 1-1 draw with Ukraine.
