The international break is drawing to a close and the Bundesliga is just around the corner. On Tuesday, Eintracht began preparations for Saturday’s game at Hannover 96 with a double training session. A total of 18 players were put through their paces for two hours in front of roughly 200 spectators during the afternoon’s open session.
Absent from the session, along with the injured players, were internationals Lukas Hradecky, Aymen Barkok, Luka Jovic, Carlos Salcedo and Renat Dadashov, all of whom will return to Frankfurt during the next couple of days. Yanni Regäsel, Slobodan Medojevic and Marc Stendera trained individually but Makoto Hasebe, Andersson Ordonez, Ante Rebic and Jonathan de Guzman, who could only manage a limited amount of training last week, all took full part, as did Mijat Gacinovic, fresh from helping Serbia qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia on Monday.
Special game for Wolf
On-field performance was the focus of the second session of the day. Head coach Niko Kovac instructed his squad to play against each other in different formations as the excitement for the Hannover clash continues to build among both players and fans. “Hannover have made a good start but we’re going there to get a result,” said Marius Wolf, the Eagles winger on loan from the Lower Saxony side. “I’m still in touch with a few of the players so obviously it’s not a normal game for me. But I’m just concentrating on the game and getting our next three points there. We’re in good form at the moment.”
