Happy Birthday, Bernd Hölzenbein!

Bernd Hölzenbein is celebrating his 65th birthday today.

‘Holz’ joined Eintracht back in 1966 and has now spent nearly half a century at and with the club. He featured in 420 Bundesliga games for the Eagles scoring 160 goals – a club record up until today. He won the German DFB Cup three times with Frankfurt (1974, 1975, 1981) and also the UEFA Cup in 1980, Eintracht’s biggest success in the club’s history. In 1974 he won the World Cup with Germany (40 caps).

From 1988 until 1994 Hölzenbein was Vice President at Eintracht and Technical Director thereafter until 1996. He formed a team back then around high caliber players from the region that nearly won the title and was classified as playing ‘Football 2000’ back in the early 90ies. Bernd Hölzenbein is a Member of Honour at Eintracht Frankfurt and he currently is the club’s Chief Scout.

Happy birthday, Holz, and all the best for the future!!!
