Sébastien Haller’s stoppage-time scissor-kick, which earned the Eagles a 2-1 victory over VfB Stuttgart on Matchday 7, has now been voted September’s Goal of the Month by Eintracht fans and football aficionados.
Haller, who last month described his acrobatic effort as “instinctive”, was delighted to receive the award, which is handed out by ARD’s Sportschau programme. “As a player who is new to the Bundesliga, it’s a great honour to receive this award,” he said. “I’m very pleased, but I’m even happier for my team as my goal helped them get the three points. I’m very happy at the club and very happy in the city.”
