We were desperate to win the game and showed an appropriate reaction to the woeful performance at Schalke. I’m leaving with a very good feeling, even though the last few weeks haven’t been easy. I feel very nostalgic at the moment – 140 games in three years is a lot. There have been an incredible number of wonderful moments. I’m grateful that I was able to work for such a great club.”
André Silva: “The win was well deserved. We finished fifth, got 60 points and qualified directly for the Europa League. I think we did a good job. I’m proud and happy with my 28 goals. It wasn’t easy to break this 44-year-old record. I want to thank all my team-mates – I couldn’t have done it without them.”
