“Make history”

Team news, opponents and absolute focus were the key themes of the press conference ahead of the away match at Mönchengladbach.

Adi Hütter on...

...the upcoming trip to Mönchengladbach: “We obviously want to increase the gap. Gladbach, on the other hand, are still eyeing a European place. It’s a meeting of two teams who play good football and are both looking for the win.”

...team news: “Sebastian Rode picked up a minor injury yesterday but he trained again today. We had to take Amin Younes out as a precaution, and there are still one or two question marks over a few other players. Martin Hinteregger is back in training. I’ll have another chat with him to see how ready he is for the game.”

My aim here with the team and the club is to make history, and that’s what I’ll be focusing on right until the end.

Head coach Adi Hütter

..the focus until the end of the season: “It needs to be clear that my focus until the summer is 100% on Eintracht, and I’ll only be thinking about Mönchengladbach after that. I understand why people are disappointed and angry. It’s my decision, and at the end of the day I’m the one who needs to come to terms with it. Despite it all, it’s better that the situation’s been made clear. I’ll talk about the reasons behind it when the time comes. My aim here with the team and the club is to make history, and that’s what I’ll be focusing on right until the end. Eintracht are in my heart, and I’m thankful to be working for this club.”

...the strengths of the opponents: “Gladbach also have one or two personnel problems. They nevertheless have a lot of good players, they’re tactically variable and play with a lot of pace. They transition from defence to attack very well and they have two dangerous forward players in [Alassane] Plea and [Marcus] Thuram.”
