The Eagles were in good spirits but focused as they completed their drills on the Deutsche Bank Park training pitches. Amidst the laughter of the players, there were always clear instructions from the coaching staff for each exercise.
The Eagles worked on their ball control and played a passing game against each other in three teams, in the first of five sessions before Saturday’s derby at Mainz. Amin Younes is feeling optimistic: “We have a great team in which everyone’s working really well. All the players are top professionals and great characters. Everyone wants to get better and is working accordingly. I have no concerns about the number of games in January – on the contrary, I’m looking forward to them.”
